Earlybird programme
The Earlybird programme supports parents and carers with young children (0-5) with a diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition (ASC) in the period between diagnosis and school placement.
It focuses on understanding autism, finding ways to interact and communicate with your child, analysing and managing behaviour and establishing good practice at an early age to pre-empt the development of inappropriate behaviours.
The programme lasts three months and combines group training sessions with individual home visits. Parents will have a weekly commitment of a two-and-a-half hour training session or home visit, and to ongoing work with their child at home.
