Content is often uploaded by ex-partners with an intention to shame or embarrass an individual and linked to the person's other online content such as Facebook, LinkedIn or work website. It usually includes the person's address and phone numbers and may be directed at members of their family.

The Revenge Porn Helpline help victims, who can be as young as 11 years old, get the support they need to remove the content, punish the offenders and facilitate recovery.
