Margaret Oates Mother and Baby Unit

The Margaret Oates Mother and Baby Unit provides inpatient care to women who have moderate to severe mental health difficulties in pregnancy or within the first year after childbirth. These may be pre-existing illnesses or have their onset in the perinatal period.

The multi-disciplinary team offers assessment and a plan of care that usually includes working alongside other agencies such as community mental health teams, maternity services, primary care and children’s social care.
